We believe that Interns provide new perspectives and fresh insights,
while allowing HBG to groom talent for the future. If you are passionate
about health and using strategy to propel business growth, consider the
HBG Internship Program.
Our Internship Program:
The HBG Internship Program is designed to introduce the concepts of
the business and brand strategy, provide real-world marketing
and communications experience, offer learning about the health
industry, and offer practical business skills to students
interested in pursuing careers in marketing or management
consulting. The program offers the opportunity to work alongside
experienced professionals on real client projects, assisting
with strategy development, research, creative concepts, marketing plans,
and project management. In addition, each intern will work on projects
to enhance and extend the HBG brand.
To ensure an experience that is valuable to the firm and the individual,
each intern will work with a strategist to develop Internship
Learning Objectives based on his or her interests and the
firm’s
areas of need. The internship may include goals based on
the following focus areas:
Clients:
Gain client management experience by learning about HBG’s current
clients and the process we use to develop and implement a
brand strategy. Activities include participation in brainstorm sessions
and other client related meetings, learning the tools to manage projects
and managing client research activities.
HBG:
Learn about HBG’s value proposition and offering, and contribute
to the development and execution of marketing and business development
programs designed to increase awareness and drive leads. Tasks may
include writing press releases, media relations, writing for the web and
new business prospecting.
Health and Branding:
Learn about the health industry and the fundamentals of branding
and strategy.Tasks may include daily review of current
publications for appropriate brand/industry related articles, research
on emerging trends in health or branding, and participation in meetings.
Creative:
Understand the creative process, from initial ideation to
final production. Tasks may include participating in
brainstorming sessions, writing copy, proofing materials, image searches
and updating art samples.
Administrative:
Understand and facilitate the basics of office flow and management.
From time to time the intern will be asked to file documents, make copies,
distribute materials and other administrative tasks.
Daily tasks and assignments may change as the priorities and focus of
the team shifts. In lieu of a formal paper or presentation
there will be an exit interview. This meeting will be an
opportunity to review the Internship Learning Objectives and share accomplishments.
Hours:
Interns will work a minimum of 20 hours per week and a maximum
of 40 hours per week.
Compensation:
The internship program is a paid position, commensurate with
experience. If you would like to use this experience
to fulfill college credits we can accommodate the necessary criteria
for your specific program.
Duration of Program:
Given the amount of up-front learning required to contribute
fully to the organization, HBG prefers an internship
commitment of at least six months (a three month internship
will be considered on a case-by-case basis). Start and
end dates are flexible based on each selected interns
situation. Two internship opportunities are available on an on-going
basis.
