Background:
The Children’s Cardiomyopathy Foundation (CCF) is a national non-profit organization that exists to promote and fund research into finding the cause and cure of pediatric cardiomyopathy. Pediatric cardiomyopathy is a chronic and life-threatening disease of the heart muscle that affects more than 10,000 children in the United States. Established in 2002 by a parent who lost two children to the disease, CCF takes a leadership position in broadening the understanding of the disease by acting as a funding partner; a resource for physician and patient education and support; and the primary advocate for studies into the causes, diagnosis, treatment and cure for pediatric cardiomyopathy.

Objective:

CCF’s vision is to build a support network for children with cardiomyopathy and their families, while providing access to patient-friendly information. CCF was awarded the Parent Empowerment Program grant from the Medtronic Foundation’s Patient Link. HBG was retained to partner with CCF to translate the vision into a strategic print and electronic communications program that would satisfy the objectives outlined in the grant, further the mission of the organization and reinforce the existing brand and creative strategy.
